Why do you no longer offer birthday parties on the farm?
Agriculture education is very important to me, and we have a weekly schedule that is jam-packed with classes. Between classes, animal care, and product sales, I simply cannot work birthday parties on Saturdays and sustain my job long-term. I need to carve out at least a few hours for my family.
Do you sell meat chickens or processed chicken?
We do not sell meat chickens or processed chicken. If we do add processed USDA chicken to our sales, you will find it on the online order form. I am not aware of any local farm that routinely sells live meat birds (chicken nor adult birds), but you can find processed chickens for sale at the following local farms:
- Restoring Pastures (processed chicken)
Do you sell meat goats?
Sorry, we do not sell meat goats or goat meat. I will post any local farms that offer these below:
- Worth It Farms – Chattahoochee Hills, GA 678-806-6884
I see you have chickens. Why can’t I just buy them?
I sell eating eggs and help schools hatch eggs in their classrooms. If I sold my chickens, I would not have eggs. It is also not financially sustainable to raise up chickens (feed/labor/etc.) and then sell them at production age. I highly suggest looking for smaller breeders/hobby farms that focus on selling chicks and poultry. I suggest checking the Tyrone/Fayette County Farming Facebook group, Craigslist, or the forums at BackyardChicken.com. I will post local farms with adult chickens / pullets below:
- Worth It Farms – Chattahoochee Hills, GA 678-806-6884 (chickens / pullets / ducks / geese)
I really wish you sold chicks regularly! Where can I buy chicks, locally?
We hatch chicks in spring and fall to use as our laying hen replacements. If we have happen to have extra that are available for purchase, you can find them posted here. Please check the list below for any local farms I know of that sell chicks:
- Worth It Farms – Chattahoochee Hills, GA 678-806-6884
Do you sell sheep?
We only have a pair of sheep for education classes, so we do not have lambs available. I will post any local farms that offer these below:
- The Hard Way Family Farm – Chattahoochee Hills, GA / thehardwayfamilyfarm@gmail.com (Katahdin lambs available in the spring/summer)
